Featured Mountain View School Neighborhood Resident: Penny Bergstrom, Home Stager, Interior Decorator, and Mom of Four

Living in the Mountain View School neighborhood all my life has afforded me the tremendous priviledge of meeting some amazing people right in my own backyard.  This month’s featured Mountain View School neighborhood resident, Penny Bergstrom, wears many hats and manages to do it all with style – interior decorating style that is!

Penny runs Delicious Decors, a staging and interior decorating business with her husband.  She has used her talent to stage several of our listings, and it was the staging that played a part in getting those listings full price offers!  While she loves home staging, her real passion is in the decorating – she loves helping people choose color schemes, fabrics, furniture, and window treatments that give their homes the best look while staying within their budget.

How long have you lived in the Mtn View School neighborhood?
We have lived in the school district for 25 years.

What made you decide to move into this neighborhood?
We have 4 children and moved to the area for the schools.

What do you like best about living here?
I love the friendly quiet neighborhood, its safety, that it is family orientated and it’s close proximity to shopping and the Cathedral Oaks Athletic club.

Do you have children and do/did they attend Mountain View School?
We have 4 children that all graduated from Mountain View school.

What do you like most about Mtn View School?
Good teachers and staff, inviting for parent participation, safe environment for our kids.

What would you recommend to anyone considering a move into this neighborhood?
Great family neighborhood and excellent school.

What does your family like to do for fun?  Are there amenities nearby that you enjoy using?  If so, which?
We enjoy the beach, the Cathedral Oaks Club and travel.

If you had to describe yourself in 3 words, what would they be?
Enthusiastic, family orientated and adventurous.

Please describe your profession.
I am an interior designer and professional home stager. We created Delicous Decors in 2005 as a husband and wife team.

What are the top 3 things that have helped you become the professional you are today?
My husband and my past experience in remodeling, staging and selling our own investment properties has taught us a lot about the real estate industry. Working with clients continues to broaden/advance my career.

Where do you find inspiration to continue to do what you do?
We often go to open houses to see what people are doing with design, I keep up with all the latest in design through top magazines and trainings.

When you are faced with a setback or an enormous challenge (business or personal), what do you do to keep moving forward?
There’s always tomorrow and the next client to keep me excited and moving forward.

How do you indulge yourself (every once in a while!) to stay healthy and balanced?
I enjoy exercise, reading, travel and visiting my children.

What has been your biggest achievement recently that you are proud of?
Professionally, we are very proud of our staging job at Via Veneto and a recent interior design job we did for a client’s entire house. Personally, I am very proud of my children.

What are your goals for the upcoming year?
To expand the territory of Delicious Decors. We have been staging as far south as West Lake Village and as far north as Arroyo Grande in recent months.

What is the ONE thing that you most want to share with other MtnViewSchoolHomes readers?
The Mountain View School neighborhood is a perfect place to raise a family.
